I’m a 20-year veteran barber specializing in almost all hairstyles, with a focus on men’s cuts and some women’s styles. I trained at Paul Mitchell and Aveda and had the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business, which helped me take my skills to the next level.
My Story
I’m originally from Detroit, Michigan, and moved to Denver around 2000. I quickly fell in love with the West Coast lifestyle—the weather, the people, and the energy of the city—and decided to make it home.
My journey into barbering started while I was incarcerated. I was originally self-taught, and cutting hair became more than just something to pass the time—it became a way to stay focused, out of trouble, and support myself without having to lean on my family. It gave me purpose and direction during a time when I needed it most. After my release, I made the decision to take it seriously and invest in my future. I went back to school for barbering and cosmetology and became licensed in the state of Colorado in 2013—and I’ve been running with it ever since.
Barbering is what I call the art of making people feel good. I’ve seen firsthand how a great cut can change someone’s confidence and the way they carry themselves, and that’s something I still admire to this day. That feeling is what keeps me passionate about the craft.
I’ve faced a lot of challenges in my life, including being wrongfully charged and later exonerated after serving six years. After my release, I connected with R&R Head Labs during a community giveback event at the Dream Center, where I met Deb and learned more about the mission. That moment opened the door for me to be part of something bigger—using my craft not just to cut hair, but to help others who are working to reintegrate and rebuild their lives, just like I once had to.
Barbering has carried me through some of the toughest moments in my life. It’s been my outlet, my discipline, and my way forward. Along the way, I’ve also had the chance to influence and inspire others to go after their own goals and pursue barbering as a career.
Today, I’ve taken everything I’ve learned—both in the shop and in life—and turned it into my own master craft. I believe strongly in staying coachable and continuing to grow, because this industry is always evolving with new styles and techniques. No matter how long you’ve been doing this, there’s always something new to learn.
For me, this is more than a job. It’s a craft, a mindset, and a way to give back—one cut, one conversation, and one person at a time.
