James Repenning

James Repenning is the visionary Founder and Chief Executive Officer of R&R Head Labs, a purpose-driven barbershop dedicated to transforming lives and communities. James's journey began in his family's recycling business, where he spent the first 20 years of his career. During this time, he learned the importance of having a purpose beyond making money, a lesson that has guided him through various professional challenges. His commitment to this principle was evident when he hired his first formerly incarcerated employee, who had just been released after 28 years in prison. This decision proved transformative, as that employee became one of the best hires he ever made.

Most recently, James served as the President of a national barbershop brand, where he enjoyed leading a large team focused on creating exceptional customer experiences. This role further honed his leadership skills and deepened his passion for helping others look and feel their best.
The idea for R&R Head Labs emerged from James's personal experiences and his unwavering belief in the potential for redemption and growth. He was inspired by his encounter with Angelo, a formerly incarcerated individual who proved to be an outstanding employee. This experience, coupled with his work helping barbers in the California prison system get licensed, highlighted the need for a supportive platform for individuals like Angelo.

James's leadership at R&R Head Labs is characterized by empathy, creative thinking, and a strong commitment to community engagement. He collaborates with organizations like The Other Side Academy to ensure that the barbershop not only offers top-notch services but also acts as a beacon of hope and empowerment.
